1Who we are
The sender of these communications is [Registered legal name — to confirm]
operating as Activate Beauty Medical Spa (“Activate Beauty”, “we”, “us”), an aesthetic
medicine clinic in Bloor West Village, Toronto. You can reach us at:
2What you are consenting to
You are agreeing to receive promotional and informational messages from Activate Beauty, which may include
special offers and discounts, news about new treatments and products, clinic updates, event invitations,
and helpful tips.
This is separate from service messages about an appointment you have already booked — such as
confirmations, reminders, and post-treatment aftercare. Those are transactional messages that we may send you
as part of your care, and they do not require this marketing consent.
3How consent works
- It is express and opt-in. We only send marketing after you actively tick the box; it is never pre-ticked.
- It is voluntary. Your consent is not a condition of receiving any product, service or treatment. Declining or withdrawing it will never affect your care, your bookings, or your treatment.
- You must be 18 or older to give this consent.
- You choose the channels. You can consent to some channels and not others (see section 4).
4The channels — email, SMS, WhatsApp
You can opt in to any combination of the following, and change your choices at any time:
- Email — offers and news to your inbox.
- Text message (SMS) — short offers to your mobile. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time.
- WhatsApp — offers and updates via WhatsApp, delivered through the WhatsApp Business platform (Meta). Reply STOP to opt out.
To receive SMS or WhatsApp messages you must provide the mobile number linked to your WhatsApp. We may send you
one confirmation message to verify your subscription. Every message we send will identify Activate Beauty, give a
mailing address, and include an easy way to unsubscribe — as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation
(CASL).
5What we collect and why
- What: your name, the contact details and channel choices you give us, and how you interact with our messages (for example, whether an email was opened or a link clicked).
- Why: only to send you the marketing you selected and to tailor those offers to you. We do not use information collected for marketing for any unrelated purpose.
We handle your information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and our Privacy Policy.
6Service providers & where data is processed
We use trusted service providers to deliver these messages and measure engagement — for example, our email and
SMS/WhatsApp platform. They may process your information only on our instructions and only for these purposes, under
contract. We never sell or rent your information.
Some of these providers may store or process your information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it
may be accessible to local courts, law enforcement, and authorities under local law.
7How long we keep it
We keep your marketing contact details only while your consent is valid. When you unsubscribe, we remove you from our
marketing lists promptly and keep only the minimum record needed to honour your opt-out and to meet our legal
obligations.
8Your health information is separate
Activate Beauty is a health information custodian. Any personal health information from your treatments is handled
separately, under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (“PHIPA”), with its own consent.
This marketing consent covers marketing contact only and does not authorize any use of your health information.
9Your rights & how to unsubscribe
You can withdraw your consent at any time, for any or all channels, at no cost:
- click unsubscribe in any marketing email;
- reply STOP to any text or WhatsApp message;
- or email info@activatebeauty.ca.
We will action your request promptly. Withdrawing only stops marketing messages — it will not affect any treatment,
booking or your care. You also have the right to ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, as
set out in our Privacy Policy.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post any material change on this page and, where appropriate,
notify subscribed clients. Your continued subscription after a change means you accept the updated terms; you can
unsubscribe at any time.
Items marked [to confirm] are placeholders to be finalized before publication.
Version 1.8 · Effective [date — to confirm]. This document has been prepared with
reference to CRTC guidance under CASL and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s guidelines on meaningful
consent, and is pending final review by legal counsel. For any question about your marketing preferences, contact
